Got one of those energy scams calling my phone, used a robot voice this time. Not the most believable at all, but I guess their English accent sounds a bit more proper than before.

My Call Guardian blocked the call ‘cause it wasn’t recognised, so it never even got through. I always use “who called me” first and this one was a total scam, no doubt. Seriously, when are authorities gonna crack down on these people? Surely something can be done to stop them.

Today I got phoned 4 times by this lot! Three calls came through on my cell which I just ignored, then one while I was at work. A bloke called Martin (bit of a common name, eh?) claimed he was with an energy firm. He began by saying “this isn’t a cold call” and tried to tell me he was my energy provider, then asked me if I owned my house. I told him if he’s actually my energy supplier, why is he ringing a business address? Next thing, he just hung up. Number’s blocked now - what a joke!

Honestly, Martin, this is definitely a cold call - this number is actually from my work and the office isn’t even mine. Tried to keep up, said hi Martin, you still there? luckily i got myself a google pixel phone a few months back which has that call screening thing built right in. i just hit the screen and the caller left a voicemail saying they needed to talk about my gas supply. problem is i live in an all-electric flat so its obviously a scam. honestly that call screening on the pixel made the phone totally worth it for me, saved me from answering some dodgy calls already.
