I tried calling back but got no reply, so I've just gone ahead and blocked the number.

Received a call at the office today from someone inquiring about the previous manager, using just their first name. I informed them that the individual no longer worked here. They then proceeded to ask for the name of the current manager, which I politely declined to provide. Next, they wanted to know if the manager was present and if they could have a word. Once more, I refused. The caller inquired about who manages our broadband services, and I mentioned it's handled by the owner. They requested to speak with the owner too, but I reiterated that the only way they could connect with someone would be by leaving their name and contact number. Their response? "No, I'm alright, thanks." This is a professional environment, and we don’t just hand out information willy-nilly. It’s evidently a phishing attempt aimed at extracting names in order to hawk unwanted products or services.
