Got a call from some scammer, really horrible experience. They tried to check my number by using one they found on Santander's site, so dodgy.

Had a man ring me up, sounded really professional, saying there were some dodgy transactions showing up on my account. He wanted me to move funds into another account pronto. What freaked me out was he seemed to know loads about me - the weird transactions were legit too. He even knew when I was opening my banking app and what kind of phone I was on. At one point, he switched from a withheld number to a proper one to seem more trustworthy, giving me tips on what terms to Google so I’d avoid dodgy sites (although I can’t recall exactly what he said now). After I hesitated long enough, he twigged I wasn’t going to bite and ended the call himself. I’m annoyed that I nearly fell for it, but have to admit, the bloke was good at what he did.

This bloke rang me claiming to be from Santander’s fraud team, seemed legit at first since he already knew my name and the last four digits of my card. He mentioned some dodgy activity on my account and asked me to verify a few things. When he brought up the third transaction, he tried to get me to give him the OTP that Santander had just texted me. That’s when I got a bit wary and the guy just ended the call. I then contacted Santander straight away and found out someone had tried to charge over £1,100 on my card. Total scam, watch out!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Tesco Bank asking for the code they'd just sent to my mobile. Thought it was fishy, so I rang Tesco Bank myself and they told me it was a scam. Apparently, these scammers were aiming to link my card with Apple Pay. They really sounded genuine and kept pushing hard.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Tesco Bank, asking me for a code that I supposedly got sent on my phone. They were trying hard to get me to give it to them so they could add my card to Apple Pay. It sounded really real and they kept pushing me. I rang Tesco Bank myself and they told me it was a scam and my card was being targeted. Quite a scary experience!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Santander’s fraud team, saying there was suspicious activity on my card in Liverpool. They knew loads of details, even where my card was registered, which freaked me out a bit. But when I threw a question at them that a real fraud dept would definitely know, they just cut the call. Looked up the number afterwards and landed here. Seems like a proper dodgy scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Santander's fraud team. They had some of my info and mentioned a card was sent to an address in London, asking me to verify it. Something didn’t sit right, so I ended the call and rang Santander directly. They told me no card had been ordered. What nasty people! Always double-check if you’re unsure.

I got a call from a guy who said his name was James Stanley and that he was calling from Santander. He told me there was some activity on my M&S card ending in ****, claiming £200 was spent at Argos in London just yesterday - which freaked me out because I was actually in that area. I told him I didn’t have an account with Santander and got suspicious straight away. So I looked up the number here and thankfully no money had been taken from my account. Seems like a classic scam to me, but I’m quite worried he’s got hold of my name and phone number now.

I got a call saying something about my Santander debit card being used, but what they didn’t realise was that I got a new card sent to me back in Feb that I haven’t even used yet. It sounded pretty legit though. Weirdly, I never got the normal email asking me to confirm if I authorised the purchase or not.
