From what I’ve noticed before, auto dialler calls often make this quick noise - sort of like a ‘BLOICK’ sound - right before they connect you to someone who’s trained to trick you. If a call starts with a brief silence followed by that strange little noise, you can bet it’s not going to be anything good. Sure enough, this time they rang me up pretending to be from my electricity company, trying to sell me something.
