Somebody called me from West Virginia claiming they were from Apple and said my iPhone was blocked. Then they wanted me to buy fake items to "verify" my account. I decided to ring Amazon myself to check, and they told me it was definitely a scam. It was pretty sneaky coz the person even texted me from a number that looked like Amazon’s official SMS number I’d got messages from before (not sure how they pulled that off). I didn’t feel right about it at all, so I just ended the call and contacted Amazon directly to be sure. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust this number at all!

Got a call from a woman robot voice claiming to be from amazon, but as soon as she mentioned that I just ended the call and looked up the number here. Definitely a scam.

i got a call from some bloke called george williams, sounded pretty believable at first. just be super careful if anyone rings you up pretending to be from amazon about an iphone purchase on your account.

I got a call from someone saying my Amazon Prime was hacked and that an iPhone purchase had been made using my account. Not sure if it's legit or just a scam.

had a call today from a bloke claiming to be from the 'amazon fraud dept', said his name was george williams with an id y7300623. he told me someone from new mexico tried to buy a secondhand iphone using my account for about £350. he said he needed to confirm if it was legit by doing a fake purchase. he told me to go to my amazon homepage and look up an xbox 40 priced at £40. stupid me went along with it and completed everything! now i’ve spoken to amazon, reset my password and started the refund process. really wish i'd found this website sooner!

Got a recorded call pretending to be from Amazon, telling me someone bought an iPhone 6 with my card. It asked me to press 1 if I didn’t make the purchase. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying someone was using my account to buy an iPhone 6. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got an automated phone call saying it was from Amazon Prime's fraud team. They said someone was trying to purchase an iPhone 6 using my account. I don’t even have Prime, so I knew it was a scam straight away. Blocked the number after 50 tries.
