7 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be BT, sounded like an English woman, maybe automated or just pretending. She said my broadband had been hacked and my IP address was compromised. They told me to press 1 on my phone to fix it, otherwise they’d disconnect my internet within the hour. I just hung up and ignored it. Weirdly, about half an hour later my broadband cut out and I had to restart my router. Everything’s fine now though. I know these scams are all over the place, but some people say their internet actually gets messed with after calls like this.
