Got a message left on my answerphone that sounded robotic and started before the beep. It warned my internet would be cut off in 24 hours and claimed my IP was hacked, telling me to press 1 to fix it. Sounds like a total scam to me, so I just ignored it.

I received a rather peculiar message that began while my answering machine was still recording. It sounded like a mechanical voice, almost as if someone was trying to imitate a robot! The content was quite alarming: "-You must restore internet service within the next 24 hours; your IP has been flagged as compromised, to ensure your connection remains uninterrupted, press 1." From all of that, it's clear to me that this is likely a scam and should definitely be disregarded.
