Got a call from someone saying they were from online tech support, but when I asked which company, they couldn’t give me a straight answer. Pretty sure it was one of those Indian call centre scams. They told me my PC was full of viruses, which I doubt. Lately, I’ve been getting like three or four calls a day from different dodgy numbers all with the same area code. It’s getting really annoying.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the government’s energy census team, wanted to double-check the details about my property. Strange thing was, they already knew my name. They even mentioned an MP who’s been talked about recently because of this sort of survey.

They already had my name but kept pushing me to prove who I was. When I asked what their name was and what they did, they got pretty rude and insisted I confirm my identity. I just ended the call.

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If they don’t bother to leave a voicemail, I just go ahead and block the number.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from a government scheme about checking home energy use for free. They asked loads of questions and by the time the call was ending they got kinda insistent. Honestly, my main worry about energy is just making sure my tea doesn’t go cold!

They asked if I owned the house at the address they had, but I moved out of there back in 2006. They actually knew my name which was kinda weird. When I said I didn’t own a home anymore, they just lost interest and stopped talking to me.
