The chap kicked things off by insisting that he wasn’t out to sell me anything, and then promptly pried into whether I recalled getting my attic done at a bargain price through some initiative from back in the day. I sensed pretty quickly he was after something, so I made it clear I wasn't keen. We did indeed have it insulated through a special arrangement a few years back, so perhaps they’ve managed to get their hands on that information? Honestly, I had my doubts about this caller right from the get-go.

Claimed to be a volunteer and mentioned that the firm which previously fitted our loft insulation had shut down and might have utilised dodgy materials. They were apparently in the vicinity the following day and could pop by to inspect things. When I declined, she insisted that I’d struggle to sell the property if the insulation was subpar. Seems like a scam or a rather dubious sales tactic to me!

I received a call from someone who inquired specifically for the woman of the house. When I pressed him on the nature of his call, he mentioned it was regarding loft insulation. After I informed him that she wasn’t around, he simply hung up. Quite unusual, really!
