We received a call today from some individuals claiming they were reaching out regarding an accident we supposedly had on the road. Quite baffling really, considering we’ve never been in any sort of crash!

I returned a call from a number that had tried to reach me, only to be met with silence for a while. When someone finally answered, they identified themselves as Ultimate Contact Solutions, which I gathered was some sort of accident claims centre. They mentioned they were contacting me based on their records indicating I'd been involved in a recent accident.

Now, I did have a road traffic accident earlier this year, but it’s quite alarming how they got hold of that information. I informed them that my solicitor was handling the matter and requested that they take my number off their roster. Here’s hoping they actually comply. It’s a bit disheartening that the Data Protection Act and EU regulations don’t seem to prevent this kind of misuse of personal information.

On Wednesday, the 22nd of May at approximately 13:52, I got a rather curious phone call where the person on the other end claimed they needed to speak with me, referencing a small mishap I had been involved in. Interestingly, the day earlier, a woman had backed into my vehicle in Sudbury - in fact, she did it twice! The first time I was inside my car, and during the second incident, I was standing right next to hers. Thankfully, there was no harm done to either vehicle, and as such, I didn’t think it warranted any official report. So, I’m quite puzzled as to how they managed to obtain my information in the first place.
