My mum got this letter that looks like it came from the government about some eco grant scheme. It promises £5,000 to £10,000 for households, but I checked and that scheme ended back in March 2021. Sounds dodgy to me, like it’s too good to be true. I’m pretty certain it’s a scam, so I’ve passed the letter on to Trading Standards in York.

This number popped up as a helpline for a grant scheme linked to a company run by two directors, a married couple. They have no staff, almost no assets, and very little capital. Would be wise to be careful! I looked up the company info and it raised some questions.

Turns out, the number is linked to a firm named Energy Savings Grants Ltd. When I looked them up, they only have two directors who are married, no staff, no visible assets, and barely any capital. Honestly, I'd be wary before trusting this lot!
