Don’t fall for the green number, it’s a total scam. I got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying I’d made a huge order worth about £2000 and even used my name. It didn’t feel right so I ended up hanging up straight away. Later, my Amazon account got locked, so I reached out to customer service and they told me it was a security measure. What’s worrying is I think these scammers must be working with the couriers - they seem to have inside info from the delivery people, there’s no way they got those details just from hacking the account first.

Bought a few amazon gift cards and then this number called me twice. Missed the first call, and when I picked up the second, there was nothing but silence. After that, Amazon went ahead and froze my account because they spotted some weird stuff going on. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

My Amazon account got totally locked just moments before this number rang me. I didn't pick up and instead reached out to Amazon’s official support. When I asked the rep about the number, she said it didn’t seem like one of theirs and that Amazon only calls if you’ve set up a call beforehand. She did confirm my account was blocked for suspicious stuff though. So really, no reason for that number to be calling me. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Bit odd gettin a call from York but sounded like a proper Amazon rep. They didn’t ask for any personal info, just wanted to confirm if I’d bought an Apple gift card worth £349.99. I just said yes to my name and if I’d made the order, then they were done :) Might be coz I was using Amazon Business when I made the purchase.

I got a call saying I won a £75 gift voucher and then an email showed up in my inbox. The email was dated 17 Aug 2022 at 11:27 and the subject said “Your Order with Amazon.co.uk”. It looked like it came from bounces.amazon.co.uk and even said it was signed by amazon.co.uk. After that, my Amazon account ended up being locked. Quite strange and worrying!

I received a call from what appeared to be Amazon Security, checking to ensure that a transaction was legitimate. It’s completely standard procedure; they might ring several times to double-check information. Having purchased a pricey item, they promptly called to verify my order, and right after I hung up, the charge was applied to my credit card. All I did was confirm that I had indeed ordered the specified product; I didn’t provide any further personal details. Therefore, I don’t think it’s a scam, especially since they contacted me on my registered number, only seeking to confirm my order.

Somebody rang me claiming to be from Amazon, said they needed to verify a big purchase. They mentioned what I supposedly bought, and I said yes, that’s right. They didn’t give any more info tho. Amazon will not ring you up to verify gift card buys or any big spendings. Be smart, just end the call and if you get a call from this number, get in touch with the police as it’s a serious scam. These scammers keep posting positive reviews, which makes you think if they’re so keen on looking good, what’s at stake for them? What’s the benefit for someone who leaves a bad review then? Don’t answer, report these fraudsters, change your passwords and get hold of your bank right away.

I got a call from Amazon, they were just checking if I’d really bought a pricey gift card. The day before, they’d actually put a hold on both the purchase and my account, which was a bit of a pain. I explained it was me trying to buy it, and the guy said they’d unlock my account again. Right after the call, I received an email from Amazon UK confirming everything was sorted. I received a call from a gentleman with an Indian accent on this number, inquiring whether I had sent a gift card from my UK Amazon Prime account to a mobile number in the US, which, by the way, I had indeed done. The individual who was meant to receive the card in America couldn't get it to work, and it seems the funds have been used up by him already. I’m going to report this number to the relevant authorities.

I've checked with Amazon directly, and it turns out this number isn’t associated with them at all. If you happen to receive a call from this number following the sending of a gift voucher, it’s quite likely that the recipient's email has been hacked, and someone may be keeping an eye on it. The email for the gift voucher carries personal details that a scammer could exploit to pose as a legitimate Amazon representative. It's a remarkably cunning scheme, so do not divulge any of your personal information!
