someone called askin for me by my first name so i told em i changed it to hermione granger and that i was planning to take hogwarts to court for mental distress and tryin to shut it down cause of child endangerment lol. i’m a bloke tho and kept them on the line for like 10 mins just to waste their time so they dont bother anyone else.

Said it was about a road traffic accident claim - I told them I’d caused the crash and killed the other driver, just got out of prison recently so not great timing. They just hung up! They keep ringing me non-stop. I've got an app to block annoying calls but somehow they managed to get through and rang me like five times in just a couple of minutes, probably some auto-dialler thing.

Got a call from someone saying I’d been in an accident, so I replied “yeah, I’ve got a split in me trousers” and just ended the call.

Got a phone call about the crash I was in. I said it was pretty bad. The bloke sounded interested and wanted to know more. So I said I’d just collected my missus after she went for a drink, and things got a bit wild on the way back. We ended up in the back seat, lost track and didn’t think about using any protection. That was about 10 months back. Then I cheekily asked him how much I could get for the surprise twins from the mishap.

Got a call from someone saying they were with DPD about a parcel left outside my old place. Said it was some Gucci flip flops from Selfridges. Honestly, how a DPD driver rings from a landline and sounds like he’s stuck in a call centre, yet claims to know what's in the parcel, makes no sense. I told him to leave it with a neighbour but he never showed up. Definitely felt a bit dodgy, not sure what the point was.

Just got called by what sounded like another dodgy ambulance chaser scam. I asked, "What exactly are you trying to sell?" and the person went, "I’m not selling anything." They claimed to be calling about an "incident" near where I live. I asked, "What incident?" and the bloke just said, "Rude sod. I’ll ring you tomorrow." Really annoying I didn’t catch the company name - would’ve liked to follow up. Might just report it as a nasty call for the fun of it.

Got a call on my phone on 14th May, he asked for me by name. Said he was Nelson from First Support and mentioned I'd been involved in an "incident" not long ago. I asked when it happened and he said 25th April. When I started to question him more, he just cut the call. Pretty obvious scam to me.

This lot goes under the name First Response, but they often say they’re with the vehicle assessment centre or some other outfit. They try all sorts of tricks to make you spill info so you’ll start a claim. Best thing is just to hang up and block them straight away.

Got a call from them, they knew my first name right away. Said it was about some payment claim for a car accident. Told them I’d never been in any car crash. Then they tried, “Maybe it happened at work?” Then started guessing, “Medical negligence or assault maybe?” That’s when I just ended the call. Honestly, these scammers put in zero effort. So this number supposedly rang me, but I never heard a thing. When I checked my recent calls, it wasn’t there at all. What’s odd is I only got a missed call alert from "1571", which is actually the line for my voicemail (I’m with BT mobile). This kind of thing happens every time some scam caller tries me. It’s pretty bizarre, but I guess there’s some explanation behind it.

I didn't pick up either time but looked it up here and found it’s the typical scam about a car crash or a workplace injury (which is laughable since I'm not working right now and don’t even hold a driving licence, never mind a car). I’m about to block that number, but if I get more calls like this from different numbers, I’m thinking of telling them the ‘accident’ was so bad it actually killed me and seeing if they keep chatting.

Got a call from some rude woman claiming she’d been in a car crash and wanted details. I asked her what accident, but she just kept quiet. Then I asked how she got my number, still no answer. When I asked where she was calling from, she said Manchester. That’s strange since the number’s from York. I asked for an address and she couldn’t even tell me! What a muppet. Then they said "the one in the past 3 years", I asked again which one? After a pause, they switched to asking about a work-related fall. When this number rang me, I acted like a kid - usually scares them away. The bloke on the line was really unsettling. He asked if I wanted to be his boyfriend and when I said no, he begged me to say yes. Then I asked who he was and he replied, "I’m your Daddy, you should call me Daddy." Some lady rang me sayin I’d been in an accident in the past 3 years. When I asked what accident she was talkin about, she said she couldn’t tell me. I managed to get her to confess they bought my number from somewhere else and was just calling randomly. She got quite rude when I said I’d report the number. This is like the 10th time they’ve tried in 2 weeks, every time from a different number.

Got a call from Daniel a few months back. He mentioned some kind of accident and claimed he was representing a firm sorting out complaints about an insurance company. I only gave him some sketchy info, but when I tried to ask him stuff, he wasn’t really willing to answer me. Eventually told him to take me off their list. Just got another call today, my phone flagged the number as spam, so I looked it up here and decided to block it.

Im always super wary about calls comin to my phone. The easiest way to dodge these scams is to check who’s callin first, and if its not someone you know - just don’t pick up!! Got a call from someone called Daniel at Support Assist, saying there was an issue with my car insurance claim. Told him straight away to take my info off their system and never ring me back. To be fair, the bloke was polite and said he’d sort it, though whether he actually will is another matter. I’ve also filed a complaint with the TPS since I’m on their list and shouldn’t have been called in the first place. If more folks did this, the TPS could probably take action against places like this.
