Told him I was all good with cover, but he just kept going on so I ended the call. Then he rang me again from the same number straight away, so I just blocked it. Didn’t end up giving any info, but it definitely felt fishy.

Beware of these Domestic & General Insurance fraudsters! They called me up saying since I hadn’t claimed on my kitchen stuff this year, they’d lower my premium by 25%. I asked what exactly was included and how much I’m paying at the moment. As soon as I started probing, they just cut the call. Total con artists.

Today, on the 4th of July, I received a call from 01904205007 regarding some kind of protection plan for my household appliances, which I certainly don’t have! A rather presumptuous young woman-who didn’t fit the typical profile, I might add-insisted that I was covered. I found the conversation quite absurd and decided to hang up.

The number that popped up had a York area code, which I’m familiar with, so I asked the caller what part of York he was ringing from. He seemed pretty surprised and told me he was actually in Brighton, Sussex! So obviously it’s one of those scam calls with a fake number showing. I didn’t stick around to find out what scam he was trying to pull. I’d say it’s probably quite dodgy!

I just got a call supposedly from my home insurance about changing my bank info for the direct debit. They asked for the cardholder's name, the full card number, and even the three-digit code on the back. That seemed odd to me, since you don’t need all that just to update a direct debit. I refused to give them those details and decided to ring up my insurance provider myself. Turns out it was a total scam. So yeah, never ever share your full card number or CVV with anyone, as they could use it to buy stuff online without your permission.

We keep getting loads of calls from these dodgy scammers calling themselves “Domestic Insurance.” They’re always cloning UK phone numbers and seem to never stop. Our line’s been buzzed at least 20 times by them. Each time I try blocking the number, they just ring back from another fake one. Honestly, it’s a really risky phishing scam and people should watch out!

Absolutely dodgy lot! They rang up calling themselves Domestic Appliances, asking if I’d used any engineers on my appliances in the past year, saying it could get me a discount. Turns out, they have no link whatsoever to Domestic & General. Funny thing is, Domestic & General are already sorting out a replacement for my fridge freezer because of a problem I had. I kept quiet about that and just told the caller I wasn’t buying any of it. He said he’d ring back another time - I’m oddly looking forward to it!
