7 yearsA few days back, I got a call from this number but when I picked up, all I heard was silence. Then today, a similar thing happened with 01856669281 - again, no noise when I answered. My guess is these scammers are just checking if someone’s there before they make a third call from a different number to try and scam you. This year alone, I’ve had loads of bogus calls but the tricky bit is the numbers they use are actually stolen from innocent people, so you think you can track the scammers through their number, but really you can’t. Usually, the calls come from someone with a loud American or Australian accent, often claiming something ridiculous like my daughter upset theirs and demanding I do something. Another random one was a bloke saying he was ordered to dump a load of top soil in my driveway! To mess with them, I started singing instead of talking and just ignored their nonsense.
