This number is linked to a double glazing outfit called Brighter Homes. They initially offered a no-obligation voucher, which made me a bit wary. Soon after, they rang again trying to set up a time for a salesman to come and provide a quote. After a quick search, I saw that BBC1's Watchdog had actually exposed them in a segment about rogue traders. The windows themselves might be fine, but their methods are dodgy and borderline illegal, especially targeting older, more vulnerable people.

It seems the number belongs to a double glazing firm named Brighter Homes. I had my doubts when they offered a no-strings voucher and subsequently rang me up, eager to send a salesman my way for a quote. A quick search revealed that BBC1's Watchdog had covered them in a segment about Rogue Traders. Their windows might be perfectly fine, but their method of operating is quite dodgy; they’re clearly exploiting vulnerable individuals and the elderly, which is rather unethical, to say the least. - Caller: Brighter Homes

The phone rang but stopped just as I was about to answer. So I called the number back and got an automated message from a woman with an American accent saying my call was important. But right after that, the call disconnected. I have no clue what company it was, even though the number was local. Since then, I’ve had no return call. Guess it’s not really important if they can’t be bothered to get back to me.

This number kept calling me about three or four times then just went quiet. I looked it up on 1471 but didn't feel like calling back. If they’re that keen to speak, they can always ring me again!

When my phone rang, I picked up and it was a recorded message that didn’t answer when I asked who it was. I tried calling the number back using 1471 to find out more, but it just played the same message again. The voice was a dull, mature woman speaking in a flat tone, and honestly, I couldn’t make out what she was trying to say.

A pesky robocall!

I've just had a call from this number too, but I can’t quite place who it might be. When I tried returning the call, it rang for a bit then went straight to a constant beep. Any idea who this might be?

I’m utterly fed up with this number ringing both my mobile and my home phone... honestly! 😩

This particular number seems to ring me a minimum of four times daily. Today, I finally decided to return the call, after weeks of silence on the other end when I answered. All I got was this robotic message in a thick American accent. It said something along the lines of, “Your call is extremely important to us, please stay on the line and an agent will assist you shortly.” It’s maddening!

I didn’t catch this call (it’s a local number for me), so I tried returning it and was greeted by a voice that definitely didn’t sound British, possibly American. They went on about how my call was incredibly important to them, but it all felt rather scripted and dull, if you ask me.

I've had three calls from this number in the last day. You can hear faint noises on the line but no one actually speaks to you. Eventually, the call just gets disconnected. If you try ringing back, you're met with a recorded message insisting your call is valuable and to hold until an agent becomes available. Yet, just moments later, the line goes quiet. Quite odd, really!

I received a call from this number on the bank holiday Monday at precisely 3:41 in the afternoon, yet they decided not to leave any message on my voicemail. Quite mysterious!

I received an odd call from someone who seemed to know our name - it was all rather strange. They didn't say much, just repeated it in a cheeky tone before hanging up abruptly. When I tried calling back, I couldn't get through at all. How peculiar!
