2 yearsI received a rather unsettling phone call from someone purporting to be from my local bank. They claimed there were some unauthorised withdrawals of £500 and £1000 from my account, and then they began asking for my bank details. I firmly told them I wasn’t about to divulge any personal information over the phone. Instead, I let them know that I would be heading to the bank myself to sort things out, and that I would involve the fraud squad as well. The moment I requested their information, they promptly hung up, despite it being a local number. Quite worrying, to say the least-definitely a scam to be wary of!2 yearsSomeone rang me claiming to be from the local bank, saying there'd been two withdrawals from my account, one for £500 and another for £1000. They asked for my bank details to "verify" the account. I told them off and said I'd report the call, then they just hung up straight away. The number looked like it was from around here, so clearly they’re using local numbers to trick you. It’s definitely a scam trying to steal your money.
