My partner picked up the landline when this number rang and was greeted by a male voice reading a pre-recorded message. It claimed that our account had incurred two charges: the first for £300 to Amazon and another for £500 to some foreign enterprise. We are convinced this is a scam, but it’s a bit unsettling to receive such a call from what seems to be a local number. Naturally, we opted not to return the call, worried that might lead to further issues.
