I received a rather insistent call from someone sporting a distinctly British accent, claiming to represent a company named “Brand Cover.” They were touting an enticing offer to upgrade my washing machine worth up to £500, despite the fact that they don't actually sell such appliances. When I pressed them on how they acquired my information, they were rather vague, suggesting they were a newly established firm that could somehow ascertain my details. I firmly requested that they send me their proposal in writing, though I made it clear I had no interest whatsoever. This seemed to frustrate him, as he became quite argumentative, seemingly baffled by my lack of enthusiasm. When I attempted to inquire further, the line abruptly went dead. This marks the third call I've received from them; during the previous two, there was no one at all on the other end.
