4 yearsSome guy called me, sounded like he wasn’t from around here, claimed he was from BT and said my internet was being hacked. Thing is, I don’t even have BT broadband at my place, so I told him that. He didn’t believe me and started threatening to come over and chop my head off with an axe. Proper scary and nasty call, made me feel really uncomfortable.BT5 yearsCan anyone tell me what area this number is from? Cheers.5 yearsDidn’t bother to leave a message.5 yearsReceived a phone call at half-past seven this morning that roused everyone from their slumber. As soon as I picked up, they disconnected. I've no clue who was calling or what they wanted. Quite frustrating, to be honest!5 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from BT about my “internet”. Thing is, I don’t even have BT as my provider. The guy who spoke, called himself “Peter”, but he had a really thick Indian accent. Felt a bit off.BTPeter5 yearsA rather rude caller decided to ring us at half past seven this morning, waking everyone up in the house. To make matters worse, they hung up as soon as I picked up the phone. I've since ensured this number is blocked from contacting us again.5 yearsClaimed to be calling from Open Reach, saying there were attempts to hack my account from overseas.Open Reach5 yearsI received an utterly distressing and alarming phone call the other day. A man with a rather thick foreign accent claimed to be from BT, insisting that my internet connection was compromised and under attack. He urged me to sit down at my computer so he could guide me through the process of "fixing" it. However, since we don’t even have BT or a broadband connection associated with that number, I quickly discerned he was attempting to deceive me. In the past, I've found these calls to be bothersome but usually ignore them, as they're quite common. However, this individual took it to another level, brazenly accusing me of lying and threatening to show up at my home with an axe, a threat he reiterated multiple times! I informed him how utterly unacceptable such a statement was and requested to speak with his supervisor, suspecting he was part of a call centre operation. To my dismay, he abruptly stated there was no supervisor available, and it was only him I could converse with. I can't help but feel that if he had targeted someone vulnerable or elderly, it could have caused them considerable distress and anxiety. It’s appalling that individuals like this are allowed to harass random people over the phone, and I’m left wondering what can be done to put an end to this dreadful practice. Have any suggestions on curbing these intrusive calls?BT5 yearsI received a call from this number claiming to be from BT, stating that my broadband service had been terminated. However, I’m well aware this is a scam since I don’t even have internet access!BTSubmit Your Own Report (01903 238950)
