They call me about 5 or 6 times daily but never bother to leave a voicemail. I picked up this morning and some Asian guy with broken English said he was from a government credit dept and that I had loads of unpaid debts. I told him he was a scammer cos I don’t owe anything at all, and he just laughed! They’re now blocked automatically on my phone.

Got a call from some Indian guy claiming to be from Citizens Advice about managing debts - problem is, I don't owe a penny. Told him this and asked if he was certain. After hearing him out, it was clear it’s a scam trying to grab personal info. Weird part is, I never got calls like this until I took part in that Argos online feedback competition. Now, if I get fewer than 5 calls a day, I actually worry my phone’s broken.

I had an unpleasant encounter with someone claiming to be from Citizens Advice. They said that they wanted to assist me in addressing my debt issues. However, I mentioned that I had no knowledge of any such debt, and this individual grew increasingly irate and started using foul language towards me. Got a call from some Indian bloke saying he was from CAB, saying I owed money for a phone disconnection bill, which I’ve never had. He kept calling me by my first name but added Mrs, which was odd. They kept ringing me all day, and when I finally picked up, they just hung up. Then when they called again, they spoke to me like we were mates, never bothering to use my full name, and started going on about me having problems with loans like it was a fact. I told them I had no clue who they were after, but they got louder and more pushy, keepin’ on about having some official government info. I’ve blocked the number now.

It is highly unlikely that Citizens Advice would make random calls to individuals. In my personal experience working there for 12 years, I received a call from an Indian woman who correctly addressed me by name. However, she went on to assert that I had debts, despite my explanation that I did not. I firmly requested her to refrain from contacting me again.

Thankfully, I had a feeling he was dodgy, but for those who are less careful, pretending to be from Citizens Advice is just nasty. Folks might end up giving away personal info. So this guy with a thick accent calls me up saying I’m drowning in debt. When I asked him where he got that info from, all he could say was “I don’t know” in really broken English. Seriously, what’s the whole point of this? No clue whatsoever. Got a annoying call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming they got my details from some DRF thing, saying they could help me sort out debts on my credit card and loans. I told him I don't even have a credit card or any loans, then asked how they got my info. He kept going on about the DRF, so I asked who actually put my info there, and he just said he didn’t know before hanging up on me.

This number rang me but I didn’t answer since I wasn’t expecting anyone. Seems like they’ve been ringing lots of folks today. I think it’s probably 'cause it's payday for many! I've gone ahead and blocked it!!

Got a call from someone with a strong Indian accent, asking all sorts of personal stuff about my money. I kept it short with just yes or no, then they hung up on me and blocked the number straight away. Proper annoying.

Someone called saying they were from Citizens Advice about some debt thing, sounded like an Indian accent. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

what a dumb scam! got a call about some debts and as soon as I paused to reply, the bloke started making jokes about my last name. proper strange.

I just let it ring out, didn’t pick up. The number showed up as Wolverhampton, which seems odd coz if it was the CAB, they’d usually get in touch through your local branch, not just randomly call you. Feels like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from "Citizens Advice" asking if I was keeping up with my debt payments. I told them straight away I don't owe anything! Hope the actual Citizens Advice folks can sort this out, because someone might think it's legit and end up sharing loads of personal info.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be with the money advice service, asking if I had any credit cards or loans outstanding. I told him I didn’t have any, and he just ended the call straight away. He did use my name though, which was a bit weird.

Got a call from 01902902869. They claimed to be from some kind of bureau and started asking if I’m an EU citizen, and whether I have any debts or credit cards. I told them they’re scammers just trying to profit from me, and the guy just laughed. It’s crazy where these people find our phone numbers!

Got a call from someone saying they were with the Citizens Advice Department - not the actual Citizens Advice Bureau though. They knew my name, which was a bit odd, and asked if I owed any money. I said yes, I mean who doesn't these days? Then they started probing about whether I was keeping up with repayments monthly. It felt like too much personal stuff, so I just ended the call. The number showed up as Wolverhampton.

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang pretending to be from the government's Citizen's Advice Office. I found it hilarious and couldn't help chuckling, which really riled him up. He got all shouty, asking why I was laughing, and I just told him it was my right since his arrogance was a joke. This guy was mad that I spotted his scam straight away - within a couple of seconds! Then he hung up, and I just blocked him straight away. Honestly, the nerve these scammers have! Do they reckon we’re daft or what?
