I got a call on my landline from what looked like a local number, but I’m pretty sure it was spoofed. An automated woman’s voice in English said something like, “This is the Bank Security Department calling. We’ve spotted two unusual charges on your card today. One was £300 from Amazon, and the other £1,100 from an international transfer site. Neither of these match your usual spending. To approve these, press 1. To cancel or talk to our support staff, press 2. Thanks.” When I pressed 2, a bloke with a thick accent picked up the phone.
