Got a couple of calls over the last two days from this firm. A rude woman with a strong Yorkshire accent claimed my missus had requested a call about our mortgage. Not likely, as we don’t have one and my wife isn’t involved in any money matters. When I questioned her, she actually had the nerve to say *I* was being rude! They did have our exact names though, so now I’m really curious where they got that list from.

Today I got a ring from this number, claiming to want to chat about my mortgage. I mentioned I don’t have one anymore and she quickly switched to asking about life insurance. I told her to stop poking around in my affairs. She said it was a follow-up call, but I don’t recall any previous calls from them. I told her to remove my number from their database, and she said she’d do that. Funny thing is, the number appears to be local.

Some woman rang up claiming they'd contacted me earlier about my mortgage, which I was sure hadn't happened! I told her my number’s signed up to the TPS and demanded she delete it from their system and stop calling me. She promised to sort it but apparently my number ended up on some kind of consumer database being sold on. Guess I’ll have to wait and see if those pointless calls keep coming - seems like the TPS doesn’t really do much good here. It was a local number too, not some random foreign one!
