I got a call from someone saying they were from BT, but when I tried to ask about my broadband, she avoided my questions totally. Some woman rang me, said she was from BT and told me that my broadband had been accessed by some random IP address late at night. I wasn’t quite sure what her angle was or how she wanted to con me, but I’m certain it was some kind of scam!

Got a call this morning around half eleven from 01900826209, looked like a BT number like others have said. It was a woman on the line but her English was really hard to follow, kept jumping all over the place. When I asked what she wanted, she just cut me off and hung up. If you’re getting loads of calls from unknown numbers like this, I’d seriously think about reporting it to the TPS. They might step in quicker if enough people complain.

Received a call earlier today from someone purporting to be from BT technical support, asserting that there was unusual activity occurring on my broadband line, involving multiple users. They went on to claim that my connection had been compromised and offered assistance in retrieving it. However, they insisted on obtaining my account information and requested remote access to my computer.

I received a call earlier today, on the 21st of January, 2019, roughly around 2:05 in the afternoon. The caller was inquiring about my internet service. However, when I requested their information, they abruptly ended the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT Openreach, saying there was a problem with my router security. He said the call was coming from an 0800 number based in London. When I asked a bunch of questions, he denied it was a scam, but then just shut the call down when he couldn’t properly answer me. Felt pretty dodgy to me.
