Whenever I try calling back cold callers, they never pick up. It's like they're avoiding any reply.

I got a call from this number and they wanted to talk to me. When I asked who it was and where they had my number, the person said his name was Kyle and claimed he had it from my dad. I found that odd and told him my dad died nearly a decade ago. After that, the caller just hung up on me.

When I picked up, the bloke was chuckling and kept calling me “sweetie”. I only answered ’cause I was waiting for a call from an unfamiliar number. He claimed my number wasn’t ‘restricted’, which I found odd. This is the third dodgy call I’ve had this week from numbers I don’t recognise, and only the second one I actually answered. They were all trying to get me to accept some kind of compensation for an accident. I told them to take me off their list, but I’m not holding my breath. Best not to pick up - it’s definitely a scam.

called by some bogus insurance outfit claiming to be the third party. when i told them to get in touch with my actual insurance, they got all defensive, saying something like it doesn't apply to personal claims. i asked them to say their company name again, then pointed out it didn't match the one on the cheque I got from the supposed third party. they got a bit rude before just hanging up on me.
