Today, my ten-year-old twins received a rather distressing call from this number, with the caller inquiring if they’d been involved in an accident. It’s left them quite shaken and curious about how these individuals got their number! I share their concern. Folks engaging in such practices ought to face consequences for harassment, in my opinion.

I usually keep them talking and leave the phone near the TV or radio, randomly chipping in that the person’s on their way and to hold tight for a bit. It’s a good way to waste their time and stops them from moving on to bother other folks. Eventually, they get the hint. If I can annoy them enough, then that’s a win in my book.

Strangely, I rang my insurance earlier today after a car hit me from behind. They said I’d get a call from a solicitor. About an hour later, this number called me regarding the accident, and as soon as I said I’d been in one, they passed me to someone who sounded like they were in a bedroom with rap music playing softly. He said he was my legal adviser but seemed dodgy. When I asked him to say the company name again, he just kept saying he was my legal adviser. After I asked the third time, he just hung up.

Just blocked every single one of them. They called twice, about 3 hours apart. If u dont recognise the number, dont pick up. Leaving it to the answerphone these days is best. :) Its the same woman calling for months now, but now shes ringing from Uxbridge / West Drayton.

Julie rang me (she said her surname too fast so I didn’t catch it properly). When I tried to cut her off to get her to say her full name again, she just kept talking and then suddenly switched to saying "oh, alright then" like I’d refused some follow-up about a car crash - which I never even got a chance to say! I haven’t been in any accident, so it felt like she was just dialling numbers to hit her call quota, not actually aiming for genuine leads. I’ve blocked the number now. Why doesn’t anyone in the industry crack down on these annoying calls? Is the ICO just not bothered?

I told them that wasn't the case, and then they said they'd remove my information.
