Surely, if it were genuinely Amazon, they’d have the courtesy to send me an email addressing me by name or referring to my account, right? I mean, their official site is readily accessible through my bookmarks! Just yesterday, I had an identical experience with an unfamiliar number that also claimed to be from Amazon. The recorded voice was eerily similar to the previous call. I decided to engage this time, only to be greeted by a chap with a lovely South Asian accent instructing me to enter something in the address bar of my web browser. It struck me as an incredibly strange approach to resolve a supposed payment issue. After giving him a considerable earful, I promptly ended the call.
