No doubt it’s a scam. I’ve got BT caller ID set up on my landline, so if someone rings without saying who they are, the phone just won’t ring. And if they give a name I don’t recognise, I block the number and report it. My mobile’s got the same setup. Best thing to do is just block and report right away.

Got a call from some guy named John claiming to sell medical supplies. He asked if I was over 50 and whether I used any sort of walking aid. When I questioned where he got my number from, he said they collaborate with local healthcare providers nearby. Then he quickly rattled off stuff to cut me off but I pushed again asking who exactly gave them my details. John admitted he was new and that the manager had that information. He jumped back into his sales spiel but I asked to be put through to the manager. After a pause, he just hung up. Not really shocked, to be honest.
