I'd like to raise awareness about a call centre situated in India that claims to be working on behalf of leading banks like Barclays one day and NatWest the next. They typically assert that you have a loan along with PPI linked to it, but really, they’re just fishing for your banking details. These people are total ambulance chasers. They rush through their introduction so quick, you barely catch which company they’re from. They start off with something like: "I understand you've recently been in a car crash that wasn't your fault..." and if you say no, they just hang up straightaway. Really impolite, but honestly, why would they bother?

If I’ve got a moment, I usually mess with them a bit, inventing some sort of accident and throwing in the reg of an old work van I used to have. These muppets then try to schedule a visit from one of their reps, so I give them a bogus name and make up an address - sometimes the local chippy or the laundrette down the road. I always say it has to be late evening since I’m tied up all day. Of course, they show up and then call asking for the fake person I gave. For some reason, they get really annoyed when I tell them they’ve got the wrong number. Bit of a shame really.

Some woman called, said her name was Danielle Wright or something like that, and claimed I’d been in a car accident that wasn’t my fault. I told her I don’t even own a car and she just hung up. When I tried ringing back to ask where she got my number from, it was just dead, no dial tone. Pretty clear that’s a scam if you ask me.
