Got a call from this number tonight: all I heard was a beep then a guy just saying hello over and over. We went back and forth like that until I asked what he wanted, and he said 'you called me!' Weird. Looked it up here and it’s a blocked number. Proper strange.

Got a call from 01895 010941 at around 17:57. A woman named Danielle claiming to be from Ace Alliance insurance said they heard I’d been involved in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. Told her I don’t even own a car. Then she asked if I was the sole driver at my place. I said again, no car. She kept going on about recent accidents. I firmly said I don’t have a car and ended the call. Honestly, “Danielle”, put more effort into it next time.

This was a recorded message that’s designed to sound like someone talking for real. If you respond ‘yes’ about an accident you had, it supposedly connects you to a supervisor, and then you chat with a real human. I usually just go off on them about the TPS or mess around and waste their time; I once tried to sell one bloke a loaf of bread, completely threw them off!
