Phone number ☎️ 01892519672 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance call originating from a Tunbridge Wells number, universally identified as a computer-related scam. Callers, typically using an Indian or South Asian accent and adopting English pseudonyms, falsely claim issues with the recipient’s computer, attempting to gain remote access or personal information. Many recipients note the calls as silent, abusive, or disconnected upon challenge. The scam causes particular concern for vulnerable groups and those registered with the Telephone Preference Service. Despite numerous complaints and warnings, telecom enforcement appears ineffective in stopping these calls, which often involve spoofed or unregistered numbers. Users are advised to never engage, provide details, or follow any instructions, but to block the number and report to official authorities for action.

Honestly, what more can one add that hasn't already been voiced? These individuals are nothing short of robbers and rogues, and it is high time that the powers that be took action to put an end to this misconduct. It’s beyond puzzling that youngsters can bypass US Military security with ease, yet we seem utterly incapable of safeguarding ourselves from these petty criminals! Furthermore, why is it permitted for governmental entities - like our Local Councils - to peddle our phone information? Surely, this needs addressing!

Picked up but no one spoke. How do folks manage to list a number that when you ring back says it’s the wrong number? BT honestly needs to fix this mess.

Looks like one of those tech support scams to me.

Picked up the phone earlier today. Some lady asked if it was me, then started talking about issues with my computer. Knew right away it was a scam since I don’t even have a computer. Blocked the number on my iPhone. Looked up the number on BT, and it’s not listed, so fingers crossed it won’t bother me again.

Total rip-off. Got a call out of the blue from some supposed IT support. When I answered, this woman spoke with a thick Indian accent. I just put the phone down and let her carry on chatting to herself for a bit. After a bit, I just blocked the number on my iPhone. Maybe giving them the silent treatment is a good way to mess with their time.

Got a call from an Asian woman asking if I was the primary computer user. Immediate red flag. I played along for a bit just to waste their time and cash. Totally a scam. They try to get you to give remote access to 'fix' a virus, but really they’re infecting your machine and then charging you to sort it out. It’s illegal, really shocks me no one’s cracked down on them yet. Would be great if 'anonymous' or someone stepped in!

How do they manage to get away with this? It's obviously a con and really shouldn't be happening. Why havent the cops turned up at these folks @ 01892 519672 yet?

big thanks to everyone who shared their experiences, i got a call from this number yesterday but ignored it cos i was tied up. now i’m aware that if they ring again, best not to pick up since its dodgy. actually had a similar call on my landline a couple weeks ago claiming to be from talktalk (which had just had a hack then), but didn’t fall for that one either. cheers to you all :)

Exactly like what others said. This Asian lady claiming to be from the UK's top IT company rung me up sayin she wants to fix my computer. Thing is, I’ve been locked out of my Tiscali email for a bit and still can’t get back in. Makes me think someone’s broken into my account? I just said cheers and ended the call.

I received a rather dubious phone call from 01892 519672, from a chap named Richard who claimed he was representing the tech support for my ‘brand new’ computer. I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at that! He insisted my machine was riddled with four viruses. I chuckled and pointed out that I hadn't even touched my computer in nearly a month, and honestly, if my eight-year-old device qualifies as ‘new’ in his book, then there's clearly been a misunderstanding! - Caller number: 01892 519672.

I've received numerous calls on both my home and mobile from this number. The voice on the line usually sports a thick Indian accent, predominantly male, though I’ve encountered a few female callers as well. They always introduce themselves with an English-sounding name. When I probe them for more information about their company, I keep getting vague references to IT support. If I ask for specifics regarding what issue they claim I have, they tend to press for details about my system. When I challenge them to clarify how they know I have such a problem, they launch into a long-winded, pseudo-technical explanation. I left them prattling on while I made myself a cuppa, and by the time I returned, they'd hung up! Now, I either ignore the calls altogether or simply end the conversation immediately. Caller: numerous.

I just received a rather unpleasant call from some bloke with an accent, claiming to be from an Indian or Pakistani background, insisting that my computer has caught some sort of virus! Honestly, what a load of rubbish. I'm absolutely fed up with these scammers-it's infuriating that they're permitted to operate here in the UK.

Funny enough, just the other day, I was narrating to my children how a so-called "Windows Technical Support" had called a mate of mine, a computer whizz. The chap asked which of the five Windows PCs he had at home was acting up! Then, lo and behold, on Saturday, the 5th of December, I received a similar call while I was just five minutes away from home. I was telling the kids to hang up if they ever got such a call. It's a shame I couldn't stick around, as we were in the middle of lunch. I use a MacBook, so that would have made for quite the entertaining chat!

I received a call from 01892519672 earlier today and, suspecting it might be a scam, I decided to pick up. Strangely, there was complete silence on the other end, and after hanging around for a minute, the line just disconnected. How incredibly impolite! - number in question: 01892519672

On the 5th of December 2015, at precisely 10:44 in the morning, I unexpectedly received a call from this number. The individual on the other end, a rather impolite Asian gentleman, inquired about me directly by name. When I confirmed it was indeed me, he rather mumbled his name and the name of his company, which I regrettably didn't catch. He then launched into questions about my computer. Curious about how he obtained my contact number, I asked him this very question, only to receive a dismissive "who cares!" in response. Our conversation escalated into a rather heated exchange, and I pressed him once more for his company's name, at which point he abruptly ended the call.

Dodgy call, sounded like an Indian guy trying to chat about my laptop. I played along for a bit and he then put me through to someone else who spoke English a bit clearer. Eventually got fed up and lost my temper, probably ended up swearing at them on the phone.

Just got a call on my mobile, I work as an IT tech at a secondary school. I played along for a bit coz he was asking about what popped up in the event viewer (which i'd never even opened). Then he tried to get me to download some free software to ‘fix’ errors it supposedly found. When I told him I look after over 50 laptops and about 500 desktops and that this was a scam, he still insisted he was genuinely trying to help. I handed my phone to our IT manager and he cut the call within 5 seconds. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

This guy named 'Patrick', speaking with a really thick Indian accent, keeps ringing me a couple of times daily with all sorts of chat about my computer. I've told him straight up a bunch of times that I don’t even own one and that he should just leave me alone, but he obviously enjoys the banter since he keeps calling back. Now, whenever I hear it's him, I mess about with different accents just to annoy him and kill some time.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from some IT support team. She said there was a problem with my computer. I told her I don’t even own a computer and asked how she got my number since I’m on the TPS register. She got quite rude, basically telling me to listen up and kept insisting about my computer. Upon mentioning that my number is registered with the TPS and whether he was attempting to sell me anything, he cheekily quipped that he was actually in the business of selling hotdogs! I found his response a bit off-putting, so I queried if he was being sarcastic, to which he replied he was merely jesting. I decided that enough was enough, swiftly hung up, and blocked that number!

My husband received a call on his phone from this number earlier today. It's quite frustrating he didn’t pick up; we could have had a right old laugh with those con artists! - Caller: IT Scammers.

Got a call from this number earlier tonight. At first, I just heard the usual office chatter, so I braced myself. I answered in a daft voice, "Hello?" This Asian woman instantly went all serious, "Hi, I’m calling about your computer." Me: "Hello? What exactly do you want?" Her: "I’m calling about your computer." Me: "What computer? I don’t even own one!" Then, dead quiet. Lovely silence! Another number happily added to the blacklist.

They rang me up today, obviously a scam. I kept them chatting for like 10 minutes, stringing them along the whole time. Then they asked what was showing on my computer screen, so I told them it was some police tracking code. They hung up super quick after that. Gave me a right good chuckle, honestly made my day.

Someone rang me from the number 01892 519672, an Asian bloke claiming he worked for BT software. He wanted to know when I’d switched on my computer. I do have issues with it, so I almost fell for it but told him to call later. Thanks to the helpful comments here, I’ve now checked the number and feel better about it.

Got a call on my mobile at 18:27 today. Just like others, it was an Indian woman named Mia chatting about issues with internet and computer stuff. She was giggling a bit during the call. I told her I work in IT and to never ring me again, then just ended the call.

some woman with what sounded like an indian accent, called me from ‘tech support’ - said her name was anne wilson. she asked about my computer, said there was an issue with my windows system (she even suggested using linux instead). kind of like the other stories here. after i asked a bunch of questions about who she was and why she was ringing, she just cut off the call.

01892 519672 rang my phone at 3.27pm today, showed as Tunbridge Wells. I picked up but there was complete silence, then the call dropped after around 10 seconds. Really annoying, especially since I was working! I've blocked the number now!

Got a call that showed Tunbridge Wells on my phone. I said "Hello" but nope, silence on the other end. I could faintly hear some background noise, maybe an office or call centre, but then the call just dropped after a few seconds. Blocked straight away.

got a call from an asian lady claiming her name was "anna" (seriously, anna?!?) asking if i was mr x (the previous user of this number) about my windows 10 pc - as soon as i realised this was one of those scams, i thought why not mess about a bit. kept her chatting for about 5-10 minutes using different voices and accents (been off work so had plenty of time to entertain myself). if you get calls like this, my tip is: the longer you tie them up, the less chance they’ve got to scam someone else. have a laugh with it, folks!

The number showed up as Tunbridge Wells so I didn’t pick up since I don’t know anyone from there. They left a silent voicemail but all I could hear was just a load of static. After reading these comments, I’m definitely blocking it - I don’t even have a computer anyway!

Total scam! Someone rang me saying my computer had a virus or some kind of issue and wanted me to type stuff into the Run box. Thing is, I’m not even on Windows. Completely dodgy.

992519672. Got a call from an Asian bloke named Patrick. He was really pushy and when I questioned him, he just got plain rude. Definitely felt like a scam since he couldn’t say how he got my info. I’ve reported the number to Tunbridge Wells police.

I received a call this morning at 11.22 am (December 2nd) from a lady with a noticeable Indian accent. She claimed there was an issue with my computer, suggesting it had contracted a virus while I was online. When I pressed her for the name of the company she was representing, she repeatedly referred to it as 'Technical Support.' After I pressed her again for further details, she abruptly terminated the call. - phone number: 01892 519672

I received a rather peculiar call earlier from a chap with a strong accent who addressed me by name. He introduced himself as Moss and insisted I had an issue with my computer. Strangely, he kept chuckling throughout the conversation. I was rather taken aback and waited for him to clarify, but abruptly, he ended the call. Quite mysterious! The number was 01892519672.

I received a rather suspicious call from 01892519672, claiming there was an issue with my computer. Given my profession in IT, I thought about stringing them along for a bit of fun. However, the Indian lady’s accent was so thick that I struggled to grasp what she was trying to instruct me on. I found myself repeating the same questions numerous times, trying to decipher her requests, which revolved around the control key somehow. Frustrated, I finally yelled down the line that I was in IT and labelled her a scammer for attempting to deceive others. - Caller: 01892519672

Received a call from the number 01892519672 claiming there was an issue with my computer. As someone who works in IT, I thought I might have a bit of fun with them, but the caller-a woman with quite a heavy Indian accent-was so difficult to understand that I found myself asking her repeatedly for clarification. She kept going on about something to do with the control key, but it was all rather muddled. In the end, I just blasted down the line that I was in IT and that she was nothing but a scammer trying to swindle innocent people. Pathetic! - Caller: 01892519672

I've received yet another one of those dodgy calls from an Indian chap who claimed to be Marshall Williams, purporting to work for a so-called Technical Helpdesk. He went on about some issue with my computer and attempted to walk me through steps to gain remote access. Typical con artist behaviour, if you ask me. - caller: 01892519672

Received a call today at 5:13 PM from a bloke with a thick Indian accent claiming he was calling regarding my computers. I enquired which ones and he said, 'the ones you use at home'. I told him to take a hike, that I could sniff out the scam from a mile away, and mentioned I'd be reporting him to the authorities. What’s particularly concerning is that he addressed me with my full name, which I never use; it makes me think some sort of official entity has hawked my details. - caller: 01892 519672

It’s quite similar to what’s been mentioned before. I overheard Indian women discussing an issue with a computer. Had I not been on the train, I would’ve probably allowed her to proceed just to gauge her intentions, but I suspected it was a ploy to gain control over my device. The number appears to be associated with Tunbridge Wells, yet I suspect it’s concealed in some way.

Received a call from this number just after half five. Same old nonsense! "Good evening madam, this is an inquiry with some drivel about x, y, z." They kept repeating "hello" as if I was deaf or something. I let it dangle for a moment, then just cut the call myself. For heaven's sake, can they not take a hint? I'm on the TPS list as well! I do wonder if they were even calling from these shores. Curious... - caller: ?Filipino

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying my computer was infected with a virus. I recognised the voice straight away since he’d called me a few times before. This time, I was prepared. As soon as I told him he had the wrong number and that he actually called an IT firm, he quickly ended the call. Made me laugh!

This morning, I received a rather dubious call on my home line from the number 01892-519672. Just as I was about to hear the typical spiel about issues with my computer, I promptly cut him off. After the call, I thought it wise to use 1471 to trace the number, only to find out it was deemed non-existent by my telecom provider! Oh, the absurdity of modern times! It’s as if we’re living in some sort of cybernetic wild west. It boggles the mind that after decades of supposed progress, we still have to deal with these con artists. Honestly, the politicians seem utterly out of touch. It’s high time they took this matter seriously instead of allowing our personal information to become fodder for these digital criminals.

This morning I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent asking if I owned my computer. She said she’d help me make it run faster. I replied, “Surely you want to take over my computer as well? Do you think I’m daft?” I told her my son works in IT, so I didn’t need any assistance, and then she just hung up.

01892519672. Had a laugh with this guy who called pretending to fix my computer. Yup, kept him (called himself Dave) on for about 20 mins until he asked, "what do you see on your screen now?" I said, "someone tryna scam me." His answer? "Exactly," then he just hung up. Brilliant!
