Phone number ☎️ 01892519672 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance call originating from a Tunbridge Wells number, universally identified as a computer-related scam. Callers, typically using an Indian or South Asian accent and adopting English pseudonyms, falsely claim issues with the recipient’s computer, attempting to gain remote access or personal information. Many recipients note the calls as silent, abusive, or disconnected upon challenge. The scam causes particular concern for vulnerable groups and those registered with the Telephone Preference Service. Despite numerous complaints and warnings, telecom enforcement appears ineffective in stopping these calls, which often involve spoofed or unregistered numbers. Users are advised to never engage, provide details, or follow any instructions, but to block the number and report to official authorities for action.

Honestly, I’m not sure what else to add. These people are just plain crooks, and it’s about time the government did something to put an end to this. If a bunch of teenagers can hack into US Military security, why can’t we protect ourselves from this kind of intrusion? Also, it really puzzles me how it’s allowed for official groups like Local Councils to pass on our phone numbers like it’s no big deal.

Picked up but no one spoke. How do folks manage to list a number that when you ring back says it’s the wrong number? BT honestly needs to fix this mess.

Looks like one of those tech support scams to me.

Picked up the phone earlier today. Some lady asked if it was me, then started talking about issues with my computer. Knew right away it was a scam since I don’t even have a computer. Blocked the number on my iPhone. Looked up the number on BT, and it’s not listed, so fingers crossed it won’t bother me again.

Total rip-off. Got a call out of the blue from some supposed IT support. When I answered, this woman spoke with a thick Indian accent. I just put the phone down and let her carry on chatting to herself for a bit. After a bit, I just blocked the number on my iPhone. Maybe giving them the silent treatment is a good way to mess with their time.

Got a call from an Asian woman asking if I was the primary computer user. Immediate red flag. I played along for a bit just to waste their time and cash. Totally a scam. They try to get you to give remote access to 'fix' a virus, but really they’re infecting your machine and then charging you to sort it out. It’s illegal, really shocks me no one’s cracked down on them yet. Would be great if 'anonymous' or someone stepped in!

How do they manage to get away with this? It's obviously a con and really shouldn't be happening. Why havent the cops turned up at these folks @ 01892 519672 yet?

big thanks to everyone who shared their experiences, i got a call from this number yesterday but ignored it cos i was tied up. now i’m aware that if they ring again, best not to pick up since its dodgy. actually had a similar call on my landline a couple weeks ago claiming to be from talktalk (which had just had a hack then), but didn’t fall for that one either. cheers to you all :)

Exactly like what others said. This Asian lady claiming to be from the UK's top IT company rung me up sayin she wants to fix my computer. Thing is, I’ve been locked out of my Tiscali email for a bit and still can’t get back in. Makes me think someone’s broken into my account? I just said cheers and ended the call.

Just got a dodgy call from 01892 519672, some bloke named Richard claiming to be from tech support. He told me I’d registered a new computer with them and it’s got four viruses. I laughed and said that’s nonsense, I haven’t even used my PC in weeks and if he thinks my 8-year-old laptop is new, he’s badly mistaken. Total scammer for sure. - caller: 01892 519672

I keep gettin calls on both my landline and mobile from this number. The person usually sounds like a man with a strong Indian accent, though a couple times it’s been a woman. They always use an English name. When I ask what company they’re from, they say something about IT support but never specifics. If I ask what’s wrong with my system, they keep pushing me to give details about my setup. When I demand that they explain how they even know there’s a problem, they start rambling on with a load of techno-babble. I just let them talk, make a cuppa, and when I come back the call’s ended. Now I just ignore the calls or hang up straight away - this number is definitely a hassle!

Got a call from some smelly bloke, sounded Indian or Pakistani, saying my PC’s got a virus or something. Honestly, I wasn’t buying it for a second. I’m well fed up with these dodgy overseas scammers getting through and pestering people here. It’s ridiculous they’re even allowed to keep ringing.

Funny enough, I was just chatting to my kids about this 'Windows Tech Support' call a mate of mine got. He's a proper computer whiz and when they asked which Windows machine was acting up, he was like, "I’ve got five at home!" Anyway, I got one of those calls myself on Saturday 5th December, just down the road. Told the kids straight away to just hang up if they ever get a call like that. Shame I had to cut it short for lunch though - I use a MacBook, so it would’ve been a right laugh to see how that went!

On the morning of 5th December 2015, around 10:44, this number called me. An impolite bloke with an Asian accent insisted on speaking to me by name. When I confirmed it was me, he muttered something about his name and company that I couldn't really understand. Then, he started questioning me about my computer. Curious, I asked where he got my number from and his reply was a rude "doesn't matter!". After a bit of a tense back-and-forth, I requested his company name once more, but he just disconnected the call.

Dodgy call, sounded like an Indian guy trying to chat about my laptop. I played along for a bit and he then put me through to someone else who spoke English a bit clearer. Eventually got fed up and lost my temper, probably ended up swearing at them on the phone.

Just got a call on my mobile, I work as an IT tech at a secondary school. I played along for a bit coz he was asking about what popped up in the event viewer (which i'd never even opened). Then he tried to get me to download some free software to ‘fix’ errors it supposedly found. When I told him I look after over 50 laptops and about 500 desktops and that this was a scam, he still insisted he was genuinely trying to help. I handed my phone to our IT manager and he cut the call within 5 seconds. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

This guy named 'Patrick', speaking with a really thick Indian accent, keeps ringing me a couple of times daily with all sorts of chat about my computer. I've told him straight up a bunch of times that I don’t even own one and that he should just leave me alone, but he obviously enjoys the banter since he keeps calling back. Now, whenever I hear it's him, I mess about with different accents just to annoy him and kill some time.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from some IT support team. She said there was a problem with my computer. Got a call from this number earlier tonight. At first, I just heard the usual office chatter, so I braced myself. I answered in a daft voice, "Hello?" This Asian woman instantly went all serious, "Hi, I’m calling about your computer." Me: "Hello? What exactly do you want?" Her: "I’m calling about your computer." Me: "What computer? I don’t even own one!" Then, dead quiet. Lovely silence! Another number happily added to the blacklist.

They rang me up today, obviously a scam. I kept them chatting for like 10 minutes, stringing them along the whole time. Then they asked what was showing on my computer screen, so I told them it was some police tracking code. They hung up super quick after that. Gave me a right good chuckle, honestly made my day.

Someone rang me from the number 01892 519672, an Asian bloke claiming he worked for BT software. He wanted to know when I’d switched on my computer. I do have issues with it, so I almost fell for it but told him to call later. Thanks to the helpful comments here, I’ve now checked the number and feel better about it.

Got a call on my mobile at 18:27 today. Just like others, it was an Indian woman named Mia chatting about issues with internet and computer stuff. She was giggling a bit during the call. I told her I work in IT and to never ring me again, then just ended the call.

some woman with what sounded like an indian accent, called me from ‘tech support’ - said her name was anne wilson. she asked about my computer, said there was an issue with my windows system (she even suggested using linux instead). kind of like the other stories here. after i asked a bunch of questions about who she was and why she was ringing, she just cut off the call.

01892 519672 rang my phone at 3.27pm today, showed as Tunbridge Wells. I picked up but there was complete silence, then the call dropped after around 10 seconds. Really annoying, especially since I was working! I've blocked the number now!

phoned at 13:50 today, but all I got was silence on the line, no idea who it was, bit strange really.

Got a call that showed Tunbridge Wells on my phone. I said "Hello" but nope, silence on the other end. I could faintly hear some background noise, maybe an office or call centre, but then the call just dropped after a few seconds. Blocked straight away.

got a call from an asian lady claiming her name was "anna" (seriously, anna?!?) asking if i was mr x (the previous user of this number) about my windows 10 pc - as soon as i realised this was one of those scams, i thought why not mess about a bit. kept her chatting for about 5-10 minutes using different voices and accents (been off work so had plenty of time to entertain myself). if you get calls like this, my tip is: the longer you tie them up, the less chance they’ve got to scam someone else. have a laugh with it, folks!

They rang me up saying there was a problem with my computer but when I said I work in IT and there wasnt any problem he just kept pestering me about who my employer was.

The number showed up as Tunbridge Wells so I didn’t pick up since I don’t know anyone from there. They left a silent voicemail but all I could hear was just a load of static. After reading these comments, I’m definitely blocking it - I don’t even have a computer anyway!

Total scam! Someone rang me saying my computer had a virus or some kind of issue and wanted me to type stuff into the Run box. Thing is, I’m not even on Windows. Completely dodgy.

992519672. Got a call from an Asian bloke named Patrick. He was really pushy and when I questioned him, he just got plain rude. Definitely felt like a scam since he couldn’t say how he got my info. I’ve reported the number to Tunbridge Wells police.

Just got a call at 2:55pm, no one spoke, just dead silence. Thought about keeping the line open but was expecting a call from my manager. Blocked the number now so hopefully won’t hear from them again.

Had a call this morning at 11.22 on the 2nd of December from a lady with a thick Indian accent. She claimed there was an issue with my computer, saying it had caught some sort of virus while I was online. When I tried to find out which firm she represented, she just repeated "Technical Support". After I pressed her again about the company name, she abruptly ended the call. The number showed as 01892 519672.

Got a call from a bloke with kind of an accent, who kept saying my name. He said he was Moss and claimed there was a problem with my computer. He was chuckling the whole time but didn’t explain anything before he just ended the call. Number was 01892519672.

I got a ring from 01892519672 claiming my computer had issues. Since I’m in IT, I figured I’d mess about with them a bit. But the lady on the line had such a thick Indian accent I couldn’t make out what she wanted me to do. Kept asking her to repeat herself, something about pressing the control key. Eventually I just told her off, said I’m IT myself and that it’s disgraceful to try and scam folks like that. - caller: 01892519672

This number, 01892519672, rang me up claiming there was an issue with my computer. Since I’m in IT myself, I thought I’d have a bit of fun stringing them along. But the woman on the line had such a thick Indian accent, I couldn’t make out exactly what she was telling me to do. I kept asking her to repeat what to press, something about a control key, but it was hopeless. Eventually, I just told her I work in IT and called her out for trying to scam folks. Such a cheeky move from whoever this was!

Got a call today from a bloke who said his name was Marshall Williams, said he was with some "Technical Helpdesk" company. He claimed my computer had issues and started guiding me through steps to let him take control. Total conman. Number was 01892519672.

Got a call from this number today at 5:13pm, some bloke with a thick Indian accent claiming to be calling about my computer. When I asked which computer, he just said “the ones you use at home”. I told him to shove off and said I was onto his scam and would be reporting it to the cops. What’s creepy is he used my full proper name, which I never go by, so it feels like some official body must’ve leaked my info. Caller ID was 01892 519672.

Got a call from an Indian lady chatting about some tech issue with my computer. I was on the train at the time, so I didn’t really have the chance to let her go on and on to find out what she wanted. It just felt like she was trying to get control of my PC. The number shows up as being from Tun Wells, but I reckon that's probably fake or disguised.

Got a ring from this number about half past five. Same old rubbish. “Good afternoon madam, this is a call from some dodgy company blah blah blah.” They kept repeating hello like I wasn’t replying, waited a bit to try and sound official, then just dropped the call. I’ve had enough of these calls, seriously. I’m on the TPS list as well. Can’t even tell if they were even based in the UK. Sounded foreign to me. Might’ve been Filipino or something.

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying my computer was infected with a virus. I recognised the voice straight away since he’d called me a few times before. This time, I was prepared. As soon as I told him he had the wrong number and that he actually called an IT firm, he quickly ended the call. Made me laugh!

Some dodgy bloke rang my number this morning from 01892-519672, trying to tell me there was an issue with my computer. I cut him off dead quick. Then I checked the number using 1471 and called it back, but my phone company said the number isn’t valid. Welcome to the world of cyber highway scams! Like I’m daft enough to fall for that after 30 years of sniffing out dodgy calls! Honestly, politicians have no clue anymore. They really need to get a handle on these scammers. And all the UK companies handing over our personal info so easily, like it’s a gift, only make it easier for these crooks.

This morning I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent asking if I owned my computer. She said she’d help me make it run faster. I replied, “Surely you want to take over my computer as well? Do you think I’m daft?” I told her my son works in IT, so I didn’t need any assistance, and then she just hung up.

01892519672. Had a laugh with this guy who called pretending to fix my computer. Yup, kept him (called himself Dave) on for about 20 mins until he asked, "what do you see on your screen now?" I said, "someone tryna scam me." His answer? "Exactly," then he just hung up. Brilliant!

Got a call from 01892 519672 on 30/11 around 11.30am. The voice was hard to catch, but they said something about a computer problem and that they were from IT. Instant red flag for me, so I hung up quick.
