I received a rather dodgy automated phone call, claiming to be from BT, warning me that my internet service was set to be cut off. They instructed me to hit 1 to halt the disconnection or 2 to go along with it. The thing is, I'm not even a BT customer, so I pressed 1 in hopes of chatting with a real person. When I did, a bloke was on the other end, droning on about how unsafe my internet was, clearly ready to launch into a sales spiel. I quickly ended the call and decided to ring BT directly. Turns out, it was all just a scam.
