A bloke phoned asking for the director, but I’m actually his PA. When I asked what it was about, he just said he'd ring back later to speak to Dean. I tried explaining that Dean can’t be reached on this number, but then they just cut off on me. Proper rude, honestly can’t stand people like that.

I’ve had a run-in with those pesky accident fraudsters who employ auto-dialling systems. They seem to have access to my last name, yet that’s where their knowledge ends. Their tactic is to persuade you that either you or another member of your household has been involved in a traffic collision and that it’s been officially reported. They really don’t take kindly to being informed that such unsolicited calls are actually against the law.

Rang me up out of the blue, they had my last name but spun some nonsense about an accident that I definitely didn’t report. I asked the woman on the other end if she realised that making unsolicited calls is against the law. To my surprise, she addressed me as "Mrs" along with my surname but refused to disclose the name of her company once more. It seems like a bunch of fraudsters with quite the setup, considering it was clearly an automated dialling system and a bustling call centre behind it. When I first answered, I could hardly make out what she said, and she was equally evasive when I pushed for her company details the second time.

Got a call from a different number yesterday, same story about a traffic crash I wasn't involved in. Today they rang again about the same thing, pretty obvious scam. Ended up just hanging up on them straight away.

I tried to pick up and told them there’d been no accident, but they just hung up on me. Bloody annoying!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the road traffic advice bureau about an accident. Since I haven’t been in any accident, I could tell it was dodgy straight away. They also refused to say where they got my phone number or give their address. Definitely steer clear of this one.
