Got a call from a local number saying there'd been £300 stolen from my card on Amazon and that there was a £1000 overseas transfer pending. The automated voice told me to press 1 if I wanted to approve it. I only picked up because the number looked like it was from my area. Pretty sneaky trick. I just ended the call and blocked the number. Then, within 5 minutes, another call came through from a different local number with the exact same story. If it was legit, the bank would contact you properly, but definitely watch out for these scams.
