I’ve just received a message saying my BT landline’s going to be cut off starting tomorrow. They asked me to press 1 for a chat with a customer service agent. Well, as a retiree with not much on my plate come Saturday evening post-six, why not give it a whirl? After a whole 35 minutes of straining to hear him, the bloke just hung up! Honestly, it’s clearly a dodgy scam, though I must admit, it’s not the cleverest one I’ve ever encountered.
