I had a rather dodgy encounter with a chap who sounded distinctly Indian or Bangladeshi. He claimed to be calling from Talktalk and seemed rather pleased to be acquainted with my name. He went on about how my computer was registering some alarming data, which was puzzling since I don’t actually use one! Before he could elaborate any further, I shot back that I didn’t trust him and demanded some kind of verification that he was genuinely from Talktalk. He insisted he had my personal information and mentioned my name, but I told him that wasn’t sufficient proof at all.
