So this person called me, said they were from BT, named ‘Jazz’, and told me there was an issue with my internet. I’ve had loads of those recorded messages before, so I wasn’t falling for it. I played it cool and said I was busy, asking for a number to ring back. She gave me 0800 800 150, which turns out is BT’s official helpline. I then checked the caller’s number by dialling 1471 and saw it was some 01883 number. When I spoke to BT, they confirmed they wouldn’t call me from that number, so it was definitely a scam.
