Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, saying they had to get into my computer because of a hack attempt. I hung up straight away but they called back three times, getting louder and more pushy every time. Really distressing experience.

Just got a call from 01879220597, and like others have said, it’s a bloke with an Indian accent pretending to be from BT’s tech support, telling me there's an issue with my PC. This number also tends to call me really early, which is a pain because my elderly mum lives close and I have to pick up. Lately, I’ve started keeping a dog whistle by the phone, and as soon as they launch into their nonsense, I blast it down the line. It probably doesn’t make them stop ringing up, but it sure feels good!

Why do these scammers always have brand new numbers to ring from? Blocking them feels pointless, honestly. So frustrating!

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang me up saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer was infected with a virus. I let him talk for a bit before I mentioned we only use Apple Macs. That set him off big time - he started swearing and threatening to come round to my place and do all sorts. I told him he was disgusting and just hung up straight away.

Loads of dodgy scammers ringing me repeatedly, not even noticing I’ve blocked their number. If it wasn’t for that, my voicemail would pick up after just five rings. Fingers crossed they get caught and end up behind bars one day, haha.

I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent. She tried to rope me into some kind of share trading scheme and told me to keep it hush-hush. Definitely sounded dodgy.

This number rang me twice today, once around half past seven then again at half past eight, but all I got was silence. I’m sick of these constant calls. They keep popping up every week from different numbers saying they’re from Microsoft. Really wish there was some way to stop these scammers from bothering us.

I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from Microsoft. He said there was some virus on our home computers that had sent him all our bank info and credit card details. He wanted £400, supposedly to sort out our Windows systems and fix our PCs over the phone. Thing is, we only use Apple Macs here, so it was obvious he had no clue. Just another scammer trying his luck. What a muppet.

01879220597 This guy said he was from Microsoft, but it was obvious he wasn’t. He ended up swearing and calling my wife terrible names. It’s absolutely disgusting and these kinds of calls need to be stopped immediately. To whoever’s in charge, please take action! This sort of thing would be very upsetting for older people. It’s unfair that we’re expected to just put up with this rubbish and still try to be polite about it!!!

This number 01879220597 has rung me a couple times recently, once last Saturday at 8 in the morning and again at 9am today. Both calls were weird - just silence at first, then I caught a bit of mumbling before they just hung up. It really annoys me because my mum is quite old and she’s just cracked her wrist last week, so every time the phone rings I freak out thinking something’s happened to her and I dash over to answer it. Honestly, next time they ring, I’m hoping they actually say something so I can tell them off properly!

Got a call from someone pretending they were with BT Openreach, saying they had to sort out my IP or else they'd have to turn off my internet to stop my computer from causing problems to others. I don’t get why BT are letting dodgy foreigners use UK phone numbers for these scams. Feels like BT is helping these fraudsters, but Action Fraud just sits on their hands. 01879220597 rang me a couple of times within an hour but I ignored both. I ended up blocking the number using my BT nuisance call blocker. When I tried calling back with 141 before the number, it wouldn’t go through, said the number’s not recognised. Sounds like one of those scam calls, I think I’ve seen similar stories about Microsoft or BT scams. The last time I got a call like that and told them off, the caller got really riled up. I'm guessing maybe a company I dealt with got hacked and my details got leaked to these dodgy scammers because my number’s ex-directory.

A guy with a foreign accent called me, took a moment before answering, and totally butchered my name. It was obvious he was some scammer from abroad. Honestly, UK phone companies should really do something about blocking these pests. I told him to get lost in a not-so-polite way, but he still phoned back three times before finally quitting.
