He insisted that I had £2000 waiting for me from some old loan. It wasn't about PPI, mind you, but apparently linked to some government register I’ve never heard of. When I pressed him on how he obtained my number, he dodged my inquiry rather skillfully. I then queried which loan he was on about, and he claimed he couldn't disclose the details due to confidentiality concerns. He insisted that I go online, but after enduring his droning for what felt like an eternity, not to mention him repeating my name incessantly, I decided enough was enough and cut the call.10 yearsI received a call today, 8th August 2016, from a chap with a bit of a Welsh lilt in his voice. He claimed that I was entitled to a sum of £2,000 from a previous loan of mine. It wasn’t about PPI, mind you, but he insisted my name was on some sort of government list that entitled me to this cash. And when I queried which loan he was on about, he went on about confidentiality and security, refusing to divulge any details.
