Not sure what it was, but pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a call from some Indian call centre claiming they were from Carphone Warehouse. They kept pushing if it was alright to move me onto another contract. When I asked who they wanted to talk to, they just said it was some promo call and kept pestering about switching my number. Told them no way and ended the call.

Got a call from an international call centre today.

Got a call from a lady who said her name was Maggie, but with a clear Indian accent - pretty dodgy right there. She claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, but I don’t even have a contract with them. I just hung up straight away and blocked the number. Definitely seems like a scam to me.

These people are cold calling from a number they’ve basically stolen after not liking the response they got! The poor folks on the receiving end are having a nightmare thanks to this person. It’s totally an invasion of privacy and a clear GDPR violation.
