Just got a call from someone saying they were "Max" from BT, sounded Asian, and then out of nowhere said, "how are you love"!!! I didn’t bother chatting, just ended the call straight away. Honestly, best thing you can do is just ignore and hang up. Don't even get drawn in by them!

Got a call from someone saying they were from an energy company. I think they were trying to figure out when my current contract ends. Seemed like they wanted to offer a better deal and get me to switch to another supplier. Sounded like some kind of energy broker to me.

Got a call from a chap with a Middle Eastern accent who claimed he was David from the electricity company. When I mentioned we’d just had a new meter fitted, he insisted there was something wrong with it. I told him everything’s been fine on our bills, so no worries there. He didn’t take kindly to me questioning him and started threatening us with disconnection if we didn’t replace the meter. When I stood my ground, he lost his temper and ended up calling me a foolish customer! Didn’t buy into his nonsense.

Definitely a fraud, not a legit energy firm. They push you to give personal details and warn about cutting off your service if you don’t comply. The only detail they had was an old email of mine that I no longer use, and it wasn’t connected to my actual provider - that’s what made me suspicious right away.

I told them, “Wouldn’t you already know that if you’re the one ringing us?” After that, they suddenly went quiet and said the call dropped, even though I could hear them breathing loud and clear.
