I reckon I just had a call from the same woman, and I gave her the same answer as before. They’d already rung my missus earlier this week. What’s worked for me before is asking them to connect me to someone that speaks proper English. They usually get annoyed pretty quick, and the last bloke even told me he was Nigerian before he ended the call. I tried reporting it to Action Fraud but honestly, it’s pointless - they don’t even ask for enough details to take any real action.

Got a call early Saturday morning around 8:30 from a woman with a foreign accent, but the connection was so poor I barely heard anything except something about BT accounts. I told her off for calling so early on a weekend and then just ended the call. After seeing the other comments here, I’m relieved I didn’t waste any more time.

01873 88999 keeps ringing my phone but no ones ever there when I pick up. I probably get about ten calls from them every week. There’s also these other calls that show up as "International" on my caller ID, but since there’s no actual number attached, it’s impossible to block them. It’s pretty annoying!

My mate got a call from someone this morning pretending to be from Windows tech support. They kept pushing her to hand over her login info. When she said no, they just started yelling at her on the phone. It felt really sketchy. I’d say avoid them for sure.

Got a call bright and early on a Saturday, supposedly from BT. They were saying I could save 35% on my bill and wouldn’t have to pay line rental anymore. When I didn’t play along and told them I wasn’t a BT customer, they just ended the call. I’ve blocked that number since then.

Really enjoyed reading the "Grumpy Old Man" story from yesterday (11th May) about stringing that caller along for a whole ten minutes. Brilliant! This number has rung me three times today already - first I politely asked them to stop calling, the second time I was firmer, and the third time I pretty much snapped and told them off for good. From now on, I’ll definitely be a bit befuddled and cranky too! Cheers for the tip.

Every single day, the phone rings at 12.05, but when I pick up, there's absolutely no one there. This has been going on for ages. After a bit, a message comes on saying the line’s been cleared. It's the same thing happening repeatedly. Surely this kind of thing isn’t allowed, right?

I got two quiet calls from this number before a lady with an Asian accent said she was calling from BT billing. The connection was awful. I told her if it was truly BT calling, then the quality should be clearer. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call supposedly from BT about issues with my line, but the woman’s English was a bit dodgy. She did seem to have some details about me, though the address she read out was a bit off. She was pushing this offer of 3 months free rental, sounded like she was just reading from a script.
