Today, around 1.15pm, I got a call from this number. Not long after, another number (+441618506427) sent me a message saying something like: "Hi Miss [first name], I tried calling about your mobile contract. You might qualify for a renewal or a cheaper deal. If you want to chat about your choices, just reply YES and when’s a good time to ring back." I keep receiving these dodgy calls around this time every year. I've blocked the number and reported the text to 7726!

It’s pretty irritating because I usually like messing about with those scam calls, making them reckon they’ve caught someone. What’s the point of ringing if you’re just going to cut off? The phone buzzed early with a “Hello, good morning,” but with a child yelling loudly in the background, I didn’t hesitate - straight to block. I’ve never heard of Abergavenny... isn’t that somewhere in Wales? They never bothered ringing back, so I guessed it wasn’t urgent. Being a carer, I really can’t be dealing with random cold calls, especially when I need to pick up unknown numbers in case it’s a client’s family needing urgent help.
