Got a recorded call from some Officer Claire xxxx with HMRC warning me they’ll take legal steps if I don’t get back to them.

This was a total scam. When they called, I just told them thanks for wasting their time, coz their threatening "you'll face legal action if you don’t comply" vibe was well off. They said they were from Bara, Scotland or something like that. Definitely dodgy.

I got a call from someone called Claire saying she was from HMRC, but when I checked, the number showed it was from Barra in Scotland. Best thing is just to block it and not answer.
