I just had a very suspicious phone call from 01869506892. The person on the line claimed to be from the BT technical department and insisted that foreign IP addresses were breaching our internet security and misusing our information for nefarious purposes. They also mentioned some unusually high usage of our internet service. Strangely enough, they stated we would need to take certain actions on our computer to rectify the situation. When I pressed them about whether they actually knew who our internet service provider was, they brushed it off and said it was irrelevant. I couldn't help but suggest that this seemed like a potential scam, and they promptly ended the call. I've since blocked the number.

Got a call from 01869506892 claiming to be with BT Tech Support. They said they’d been alerted about suspicious activity on my internet, saying foreign IPs were using my connection for illegal stuff and wanted to warn me. They said I’d need to do something on my PC, but when I asked if my provider was actually BT, they replied it didn’t matter. They also mentioned there was a lot of unusual traffic running through my internet. When I told them it sounded like a scam, they just ended the call. I’ve since blocked the number.
