Had a rather dodgy phone call this evening regarding a loan. They were after some personal details, which I politely declined to provide. Then they said they'd follow up via email about whether I'd secured the loan or not. I challenged them by pointing out that proper loan applications typically require all the necessary info upfront, and you'd get a response on the spot. That didn't go down well with him; he got a bit tetchy. I reiterated my suspicions about it being a scam several times, and in the end, he just hung up on me. Clearly, this was all a bit fishy.

I received a call from someone claiming I'd been granted a loan ranging from £100 to £1,000, and they requested my postcode and date of birth for "data protection" reasons. I inquired whether they were registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, and funnily enough, she didn’t seem to have the slightest clue about it. Despite my hesitation, she kept pushing for my personal information and promised to send details about their company via email afterwards. I stood my ground and told her I’d prefer to see the pertinent information first before moving forward. At that point, she abruptly ended the call. Absolute scam, in my opinion. It’s vital not to disclose your personal information to such callers. Remember, all legitimate lending companies will have an FCA registration number, and they must be regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Always ensure you verify their number against the FCA's official website. There are far too many scammers out there trying to trick unsuspecting individuals out of their money, so stay vigilant!

Regrettably, I've fallen into the trap of taking a loan out with these individuals. They assured me that the money would be in my account by a specific date, and, foolishly, I filled out all my personal information on their email form. Now, when I try to reach them because my funds are nowhere to be seen, I find myself stuck on hold for six minutes before the line goes dead! It's quite obvious they've got my number and are deliberately avoiding my calls. What a total con! Please, do yourself a favour and steer clear of these people-don’t make the same blunder I did!
