Someone called claiming to be from a crisis team, but they wouldn’t say which one. They told me my mum had been admitted to hospital and that they were checking up on her, but she hasn’t been there at all today.

We've got this number saved as our local hospital since we get plenty of calls from them about ongoing treatment. Lately, though, scammers have copied it and started ringing, claiming there were two big transactions on my 'card' that seem dodgy, and telling me to press 1 or 2 to sort it out. I just hung up straight away. It's so frustrating because now we have to wait for the voicemail before picking up and can't use our usual call blocker. Really hope someone finds a way to stop number cloning soon!

Regrettably, due to the incessant barrage of scam calls, we tend to ignore any incoming landline calls that lack a caller ID. It would have been helpful if they had left a message on our answerphone; however, they chose not to. We had to use the 1471 service to trace the number afterwards.

An older sounding woman rang me up saying she was worried she’d missed a call from me moments ago and wanted to find out who I was. Got a couple of missed calls right after my mammo and was super anxious 'cause they showed up as a hospital number, but I couldn’t figure out who exactly was calling. No voicemail either, which made things worse. I rang the breast screening dept but they said they can’t share results on the phone. Now I’m just stressing all weekend. :( :( :(

They’ve rang me like 6 times now at all hours, the phone lights up but they hang up before it even starts ringing!!! It’s really frustrating and a bit worrying. I even called the hospital where I’m meant to have an appointment and they have no idea about it…

Got a call from this number today, 29.10.19. Some bloke was asking for a Cristian, same first name as mine but with another last name. He kept asking if my surname was different or if I was connected to the person he wanted. Felt a bit odd, especially if it's really an Oxford NHS line, since I've never been to that place before. My guess is someone just shared the wrong mobile number by mistake.

Some bloke called my phone asking for X, which happens to be me mum’s middle name. I told him no one here goes by that. Then he asked for Mrs Y, my mum’s married surname. I said I wasn’t either of them. Neither me nor me mum have any ties to Oxfordshire. It’s a bit worrying if this came from a hospital, as it could cause upset if it’s a scam, or missed appointments and delayed care if it’s just sloppy handling.

Very strange really. The first call didn’t even bother leaving a voicemail. The second sounded like a man and a woman trying to figure out how to leave a message, with kids messing about and some family noise in the background. Then they just ended the call.
