I double-checked this phone number by ringing Oxfam’s main line, which I found on their official site. Turns out, it’s definitely connected to one of their ongoing campaigns. I got a ring from this number after signing a petition recently. The person on the line was polite, asked if I was free to chat, and wasn’t at all pushy. They even said they’d call me later after I’d had a chance to confirm the legitimacy of the number myself. Once they call back, I’m planning to start a regular donation.
