I got a call from someone saying they’re from Oxford and offering to sort out a tax refund. But then they said they couldn’t proceed if the bank account was overdrawn. They started asking really personal stuff, like what my current balance was and how much overdraft I have, then even tried to get full details of my bank card. Definitely felt dodgy to me.

Got a voicemail threatening legal action if I didn’t get back to them. Proper intimidating stuff.

Got four calls back to back in like two minutes, and not a single word was said. Total silence on the line.

I got a call on my mobile from this number, so I rang back. A man answered claiming to be from HMRC. When he asked me to confirm my phone number, I didn’t give it. I told him HMRC usually contacts my landline, then he just ended the call on me.

total scam! these people called saying they're from hmrc, telling me i havent paid my taxes and ignored their letters or whatever. then they started going on about sending the police after me and all that nonsense. complete rubbish.
