I saw a missed call from a number I didn’t recognise, so I just let it ring off without picking up. There was no message left either, which made me a bit suspicious. Then I decided to look up the number here, and honestly, I’m glad I did!

There are a few comments below explaining how you can actually help put an end to these scams. If everyone receiving these annoying calls and messages took those steps, we could really see a change. The amount of scam calls and texts would probably drop a lot, maybe even well before the next General Election happens. But this won’t happen unless every person who’s targeted reports it. Also, MPs need to hear from more than just one constituent about this issue if parliament is going to pay proper attention to it.

They rang me but didn’t leave any message. If they can’t say who they are or why they called, I’m not bothering to call back. Seems like just another spam number to me!

Got a call from this number but nobody left a message. Could be a scam or just some spam, who knows! Just a heads up, if you pick it up and they start asking for your info, don’t share anything. I ended up blocking it straight away.

Today, 27/11/19, this number rang me but I didnt pick up since I didnt know who it was. Normally, if I get a call from a strange number, I just let it ring out and then look it up online to see if its anyone dodgy. I've ended up blocking nearly 70 numbers like that so far.

Got a call from a woman with an accent that sounded Indian, asking me about some government thing to do with loft insulation and health and safety stuff. She kept insisting she wasn’t selling anything (yeah, sure!). Told her I wasn’t interested in taking part in any ‘survey’. She was polite enough, but I can usually tell when I'm being had. Ended up blocking the number straight away.

On 26th November 2019 at around 3.27pm, they tried ringing my missus but no-one picked up. Honestly, these calls are such a pain, especially when we’ve got more important things to sort out. Why can’t someone just get rid of these scammers and take legal action against them? They’re nothing but trouble.

Numbers keep popping up from Oxford, always claiming to be from some Savers Club. Every time they say that, I just put the phone down straight away. I’ve ended up blocking the number now.

I got a call from an American lady who was thanking me for signing up and said I could unsubscribe if I wanted, but when I tried to reply the message said 'full'. Found this info and ended up blocking the number - hoping it hasn't led to any charges! I only called back because I've got relatives near Oxford and didn't bother checking the unfamiliar number beforehand.

This number won’t stop ringing my phone, absolute nightmare. I reckon they’re just some scam lot fishing for info. They gotta be nailed for these nonstop annoying calls. It sounds like an Oxford number, but I’ve heard they just grab chunks of UK codes to make it seem legit. Best is to either not pick up or just stay quiet on the line and let them waste their own money calling you!

Got loads of calls from 01862 582798, I just ignored them. When I rang back from the office phone, this American-sounding robot told me to opt out by giving my name and number. Seemed pretty sketchy asking for my info like that. So, I just blocked the number.

This number has been calling me quite often. The guy on the phone seems to know my name, which is kinda creepy since I have no idea who he is. He’s also used loads of different numbers to ring me, some in the morning, but mostly in the afternoon. I can tell it’s the same bloke ’cos of his voice, so I just hang up straight away. Still, it’s really annoying and makes me feel uneasy. Looks like he’s messing about with caller ID to disguise himself.

Got a call from an unfamiliar number with an Oxford dialling code. I chose not to pick up since I’m really tired of spam calls and scams these days. If it had been something urgent, they’d probably have left a voicemail. I’m gonna block the number now. When I looked it up just now, I’m the 63rd person to have checked it out, so clearly others are wary too! Honestly, better safe than sorry - block it!
